Ann,
I'm glad you were able to find a bit of information on a relative. I don't check in on the website often, and didn't realize there was a comment waiting for approval.
Best to you and your father.

Very impressive. My father is mentioned in the book as he was one of the pallbearers. I plan to show it to him next time I'm in town.

Randy,
Excuse the delayed response, for some reason I didn't receive notice of your comment here (and I obviously don't check in often). It's quite possible that it was Henry Adolphus LONDON's book (married to Sally Margaret LORD, 1814-1857). According to my records in my Family Tree program, he lived from 1808-1883. He is the son of John LONDON (1747-1816), but I'm not sure of his mother, as John seems to have been married to two women (Ann Thorney MAUGER and Peggy MARSDEN), and I don't have an accurate source.
My records are collected largely from online resources and have not been fact checked very strenuously.

Hello. I am an attorney and a collector of antique law books. I have been researching the possible history or ownership of one of the books in my collection, a legal treatise published in 1821. The front flyleaf page bears the hand-written inscription of a prior owner, apparently saying: "Henry London, Owner, June the 19th, 1828." It also bears other neat handwriting in the form of a notation relating to real estate law, suggesting the owner was a lawyer. I doubt it was owned by the lawyer Henry Armand London, Jr., who was not born until 1846, but I am wondering whether it might have been owned by his father, Henry Armand London 1809-1883, or maybe another Henry London within the family. I found this website during my research. Would appreciate a reply if you get a chance. Thank you very much in advance. -Randy Johnson
